MULTI-SPECIES FISHING TRIPS

A family of husband and wife with three children sitting with large fish lying in front of them that they caught on the Ketchikan fishing charters.

The 5-6 hour fishing trips allow the guest to get the best of both worlds and target multiple species! This trip usually requires a minimum of 5 hours to allow adequate time to run to and from the fishing grounds but there can be exceptions. This trip generally starts out with running to the halibut grounds and trying to land our limit of halibut and other bottom fish. From there we head to the most productive salmon fishing grounds we can reach! This trip is one of our favorites and allows for lots of variety, this includes fishing for lingcod and rock fish.

All day fishing trips include salmon/halibut/rockfish/and lingcod fishing. This depends on the guests’ preferences and weather. This allows hardcore anglers the time they need to make the most of their day on the water. This longer time frame allows adequate time to fish and change locations. No reef is to far and all species can be targeted on this full day charter adventure. Most cruise ship guests will not have adequate time for this trip but there can be exceptions due to port stays.

ABOUT

The 5-6 hour fishing trips allow guests to make the most out of their day on the water. During peak season halibut and salmon are not far from one another and fishing can be as easy as pulling the anchor and setting out the down riggers! Most trips will start by running to the most productive halibut grounds. Once the limit is met or guests have had their fill of bottom fishing we will transition to salmon fishing.

If you’re looking for the pinnacle of sport fishing, then an all day, multi species fishing trip in southeast Alaska is the answer! Ketchikan has one of the most rich and diverse fisheries in the world, and this charter aims to show guests all the species and habitat variety there is in a full day of fishing. Halibut, salmon, lingcod, and rockfish will be targeted on this charter.

Guest preferences and weather are always taken into consideration and some days it is advantageous to pursue salmon first then halibut. Rockfish and lingcod are also on the menu during this charter, both species prefer reefs and rocky structure often near our salmon fishing locations. Speak with your guide about what your preferences are and what they think is best!
